Why do some people allow their problems to overwhelm them? Brethren, any one who allows a problem to overwhelm or over-power him or her, can never be delivered of such problem. Who are those who allow problems to weigh them down? They are the people who attach importance to the problems confronting them.

People that carry their problems on their heads as load; who are always thinking about such problems every moment of their life and make others to know they have problems.

When they do not have problem and everything is working for them accordingly they do not complain. But as soon as a problem comes, it is easily noticed. The reason is that their faith has clung to that problem and the moment their faith is clung to the problem it not allow them to overcome the problem.

Therefore, anyone that attaches importance to his or her problem and is thinking of how the problem will be solved may take time before he or she is delivered. There are three unfortunate consequences that befall someone who allows problems to take over control.

First, the person’s prayer will not be answered because his or her mind is not properly focused.

Secondly, the person’s soul becomes weak and sick and thirdly the person’s mind is disturbed.

Those who have good health are those that think positively and always have it at the back of their mind that tomorrow will be better. Some people’s minds are always in confused state in the presence of God. They forget that God doesn’t have much to do for a person with confused mind.

Imagine the woman with the issue of blood in the Bible for 12 years. She became confused and started consulting herbalists, spending her fortune on fetish things to get a solution but to no avail until she heard about Jesus’ coming.

Some time people tend to forget God when they allow their problem to overwhelm them. Immediately she got wind of the coming of Jesus, she became agile and zealous to see Jesus. So she made up her mind that she will be healed when she touches the edge of Jesus’ cloak.

Matthew 9:20-21: “Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for 12 years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed. Jesus turned and saw her, Take heart daughter, he said, your faith has healed you. And the woman was healed from that moment.”

Brethren my prayer is that God should take away the spirit of confusion, worry and bad spirits that will disallow you serving and worshiping HIM. Now my concern and advice is that people should be optimistic and believe that their request will be granted.

Definitely problem and temptat-ion will come our way; but we  should not be overpowered by the problems. The story of Joseph the son of Jacob in the bible teaches us to be focused and steadfast in the Lord. Joseph was a special person because he was a dreamer.

He encountered problem with his siblings because of the dream he had concerning them.

Genesis 37:5: “Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more.” His brothers became worried and made Joseph to be their problem they forgot that they too have their own glory. Instead of paying atten-tion to their lives they started plott-ing the elimination of Joseph. Eventually they sold Joseph into slavery where the manifestation of his glory started.

It is not mentioned where Joseph nagged or talked about his brothers’ action. Some people feel bad and envious when their brothers or friends are prospering. They become uncomfortable. There some men who never want their wives to prosper in life. When they hear that their wives are building houses, they start complaining, telling people that care to hear about the achievement of their wives.

These men always want their wives to come cap in hand for their needs. They forgot that what belongs to their wives is for their children. My position is that women should be totally submissive to their husbands if the women want those things they acquire to last long. They need to inform their husbands when they start any project.

Some men allow their wives’ achievement to be problem for them. Parents always prayer for their children to succeed in life.

Joseph’s master saw that God was with Joseph. Genesis 39:1-4:  “…The Lord was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did. Joseph found favour in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.”

Joseph was doing well in his master’s house until his master’s wife wanted to seduce him but he didn’t succumb, so she lied against him that he wanted to rape her.

This incidence led to imprison-ment of Joseph and other tribu-lations but he was never perturbed or allowed his relationship with God to be strained.

Anybody that thinks about his or her problems will have hyperten-sion and will not remember to bath, make up and rejoice. Believe that whatever the problem that confronts you, God will solve it for you. Do not let your problem lead to his stardom becoming the second in command to king Pharaoh being in charge of all the food storages in the land of Egypt.

Brethren while Joseph was passing through problems he didn’t them to overwhelm him that he will not serve and worship the living God.
