The Vice President,African Veterinary Association and former National President, Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA). Dr. Gani Enahoro has bagged the Distinguished Alumnus Award of the University of Ibadan.

Enahoro was honoured at the 47th Induction Ceremony of new graduates of Veterinary Medicine held at the institution’s main auditorium, Ibadan recently.

Hundreds of new Graduates of Veterinary Medicine were inducted at the ceremony.

The former National President of Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association bagged the honor because Dr Enahoro, who is the Chief Executive Officer, Gan-Rovet Animal Hospital, Warri, Delta State was the President, Association of Veterinary Medical Students (AVMS) in 1983, Tedder Hall Chairman in 1981 and a member of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) in 1980.

His animal hospital is reputable center with 31-year old referral for veterinary cases in South-South Nigeria.

Enahoro with Post graduate academic and professional qualifications in Veterinary Clinical Pathology and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Ilorin was in 2011 honoured by University of Nigeria, Nsukka as “A Role Model of the Veterinary Profession in Nigeria”, while the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 also honoured him with “Award of Excellence” for his excellent contributions to Veterinary Enterprise in Nigeria.

Enahoro described the award from his alma mata, as “heart-warming”.
