As part of activities line-up to marks the Church’s  70th anniversary celebration, the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide would be  visiting IDPs camps in the North-east and some orphanages in the six geopolitical zones with relief materials, medics and empowerment programmes designed to cushion the effect of the current recession.

The Church, founded September 29, 1947, by SBJ Oshofa, hitherto would unveil its anniversary logo March ending with the whole ceremonies climaxing September 29, later this year.

Speaking to journalists at the Church’s headquarter in the Makoko area of Lagos, the Chairman, Church’s 70th Anniversary Committee, Prophet Emmanuel Soyemi, said: “It is our social responsibility to our environment and when I say our environment, am taking the entire geopolitical space or entity known as Nigeria into reckoning, visiting the IDPs in the North east and North west and motherless homes and all of that. Then some other things we think we can do to benefit mankind, which is the purpose of the church.”

He continued, “All those people in the IDPs camps that we are visiting, we are not just going to feed them, we would give some medication and relief materials. We are also going to render some form of assistance by empowering those who are into tailoring and other vocations. At the end they would get tools and cash to establish.”
