Borno State Government has urged all Con- tractors, stakeholders, agencies and Engineers handling the construction of roads, bridges and drainages in Maiduguri Metropolis, Jere and other Local Government Areas to ensure timely completion of projects to enable government commission and hand them over to the general public this year.
This was disclosed yesterday by Commissioner for Works and Transport, Hon. Adamu Lawan when he inspected ongoing construction of roads and drainages in Bulumkutu Tsalake, Dala Alemdari- Kainji Line, Suleimanti, Galtimari, Gamboru Market- Shokari- Mashamari wards and installation of street lights along Bama, Post Office, Baga, Maiduguri- Kano roads within the metropolis.
At the Dala Alamderi- Kainji Line road project site which is being handled by CGC firm, the Commissioner told the Supervisor , Mr. Markus Maigana, that, government has approved and released over 50% of mobilization funds for CGC construction firm, Haijag and other contractors as well as to the ministry for works which is also handling direct labour projects in the state, adding that, there is no justification for delay, completion or execution of people oriented projects across the state. In an interview after the inspections, the Commissioner commended the contractors for the level of work.
