Two brothers, Iyiola Kazeem (19) and Iyiola Rilwan (21) have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for alleged armed robbery.
The siblings, according to security source, were arrested last week at Oluwole Fagbote Street, Ota after attacking their victim (name withheld) at about 5 am.
The victim was said to be sleeping in his house, situated on the same street, when the suspects, wearing masks, broke into his apartment and attempted to rob him of his valuables.
The two brothers allegedly dealt several machete cuts on their victim, who fought them and succeeded in unmasking one of them whom he recognized as his neighbour’s son.
Vanguard learned that “a distress call was sent to the Police and the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP Muiyeedeen Oba, who led a team of anti-robbery men to the scene and the two suspects were arrested.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Special Anti-Robbery Section, Eleweran, Abeokuta for further investigation.
