Focused and large-hearted, Engineer Phillip Tabansi was the young man everybody approached for help in the 80s and early 90s when Tabansi Records which was one of the leading indigenous record companies in the country held sway.
Although his late father, Chief G.A.D Tabansi, was actively involved in the business, Phillip upon his return to Nigeria from London in search of the golden-fleece, simply joined the family business alongside his brother, Goddy and they made great strides.
But the sad news is that Phillip who’s still in his prime has just passed on. He died recently and to bid him farewell, his family members, friends and well-wishers gathered at Tabansis office along Kudirat Abiola road, Ikeja.
Charles Imoloame, (Charlimo), President of Nigeria Music Club, in a statement that heralded the occasion, prayed that his gentle soul will rest in peace.
