ABAKALIKI—AHEAD of the 2019 general election, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the last general election in Ebonyi State, Edward Nkwegu, yesterday, dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.

Registering for his new party at Agbaja ward in Izzi Local Government Area of the state, Nkwegu said he was joining APC because of its progressive policy which guarantees jobs for the masses, development of the people and huge infrastructural development.

He promised to contribute his quota to the development of the party and ensure that the party wins the next election.

Issuing him with the party’s receipt, Deputy National Woman Leader of APC, who is also the chairman of continuous registration exercise in the state, Mrs Tina Adike, extolled the virtues of Nkwegu, noting that his humility and generosity are legendary.

In his remarks, the Acting State Chairman of the party, Pastor Eze Nwachukwu Eze said Nkwegu has come to where he rightly belongs.

According to him, the entry of the renowned Architect into the Party will boost her electoral chances even as he used the the opportunity to warn those gearing up to disrupt the ongoing party registration exercise to steer clear or face the full wrath of the law.
