SUPER Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has told his players that Russia 2018 ticket was still far from being secured. Speaking at the post match press conference in Uyo, Saturday, Rohr said, “I have told my players that it is still a long way to Russia. We must remain focused and concentrate in the remaining matches.”
Rohr, however, admitted that the Eagles were on the right track, having secured six maximum points from two matches.
“We still have four difficult matches against Cameroon, home and away, Zambia and the return leg against Algeria. We must continue to work hard because they are all difficult games..”

The German tactician was full of praise for his players whom he said, “worked so hard” for the victory over a combating Algerian side.
“We had a good first half, then suffered a lot in the beginning of the second half when the Algerians turned on the heat. But we defended well, even as we conceded, the third goal was very good. That goal killed the game in our favour.”
He admitted that the right full back position was still a problem but said, “we will continue to experiment with the materials we have until we get it right.”
On Daniel Akpeyi who made his debut appearance under him, Rohr said the goalkeeper impressed him. “I noticed he was jittery initially. But generally, he had a good game.”
