Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State and the National Security Adviser, NSA, Major-General Babagana Monguno (retd), have stressed the need for synergy among security agencies, local government chairmen and other stakeholders in the country to sustain the current successes achieved in the fight against terrorism.
This came as the duo hailed the release of the 21 Chibok girls, abducted few years ago in Borno State by the Boko Haram sect, describing it as “most welcome development.”
They made the remarks yesterday, in Lagos at the National Sensitization workshop on implementation of the National Counter Terrorism Strategy, (NACTEST), for Oyo, Ogun and Lagos States.
Ambode, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tunji Bello, stressed that all security agencies must be united and determined in the knowledge that government is committed to providing all the support needed to guarantee victory.
He explained that this is imperative and compelling in order to sustain the current successes achieved in the fight against terrorism.
The governor restated his administration’s commitment to continue to extend necessary logistic support to security agencies in the state.
