Awka – There was partial compliance of the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Anambra State. While markets and some commercial banks remain closed as at 11am in Onitsha, those in Awka were open and attending to customers.

Government offices were also open and civil servants were in their duty posts in Awka. Some schools were open, while students and pupils were asked to go home in others.

Traffic was generally light in all the major cities in the state and movement was not restricted in any way.
What happened was that some people chose to obey the order merely for the fear of the unknown and the expectation is that businesses would open in the next few hours.
