ABEOKUTA—Ogun State government has appealed to medical practitioners in the state to call off the on-going industrial action by the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA.

The government urged them to join hands with it to fulfil its efficient healthcare delivery mandate to the people, promising that their demands would be met once the economy picks up.

Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, stated this while playing host to the new Executive Council of NMA, Ogun State in his office.

Adeoluwa told the visiting Doctors that the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun cared about the welfare of its workforce but lamented that the current economic down turn in the nation was a major set-back.

In his remarks, the NMA chairman in Ogun State, Dr. Abayomi Olajide, pleaded with the state government to act swiftly to end the current strike action embarked upon by the doctors.
