Muturu blasts Akpodoro for linking Jonathan to Avengers

WARRI- NATIONAL Vice Chairman, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Phase II, Kingsley Muturu, has berated an ex-militant leader, Israel Akpodoro, over his recent comment that former President Goodluck Jonathan established the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA.

Speaking to Vanguard, Tuesday, he said: “It is the height of democratic recklessness and a pity that the likes of Akpodoro are being sponsored to dent the good records of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, thereby turning the entire episode into an APC and PDP ordeal.”

“After the 2015 presidential election, Dr Jonathan specifically addressed and warned all ex-militants against any act of militancy, so linking him to such activities, only goes a long way to tell you the kind of person Akpodoro and his cohorts are,”‎ he asserted.

His words: “Though as ex-militants, we are not in support of the activities of the so-called Avengers, we know Akpodoro is being sponsored by some political bigwigs, but he should know that the path he is treading on will not do him any good.”
