DPR vows to sanction marketers hoarding fuel in Delta

ASABA— DEPARTMENT of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has vowed to prosecute marketers hoarding and selling fuel above the approved pump price in Delta State.

Officials of DPR  who stormed Asaba and its environs, sealed off over 11  petrol stations for hoarding and selling the product above the approved pump price.

Officials of the department, who went round the state capital, arrested one tanker driver who was suspected to be diverting the product. They also dispensed the product for free to members of the public before sealing off the stations that were found wanting.

The petrol stations sealed included  Anioma Petrol Station, No Wayo Petroleum, Friends Petroleum and Gas Limited, Crown Filing Station, Edgar Petrol Station, Tonimax Filing Station and Chrisvan Petroleum. In Agbor axis, three petrol stations were also sealed off.

Fielding questions from newsmen, leader of the team, Mr Jerry Udegbunam, said the DPR would ensure that the public continued to get the product at the government stipulated price of N86.50.
