Philip, my friend’s cousin, has always been the darling of every member of their family. Bayelsa supplementary poll: Police bar personnel from escorting VIPs to polling units
The Bayelsa State police command has threatened to sanction any personnel who escort their principal to polling units during supplementary election in Southern Ijaw council area and in 101 units across six local government areas of the state. Spokesman of the command Asinim Butswat, a Deputy Superintendent of Police yesterday in Yenagoa said the fresh warning concerning movement of VIPs during the poll was due to the realities on ground.

The president can hold a negative personal opinion about the decision of a court but he is charged by the constitution to uphold the law and promote justice. The law is what the judiciary says it is. Promotion of justice entails not just submission to court decisions but the mobilization of the citizenry to obey the courts and respect judicial pronouncements as a matter of high civic duty.
Lassa fever claims 40 lives in 10 states
The Federal Government on Friday confirmed the death of 40 people out of 86 reported cases of Lassa fever outbreak in 10 states. Prof. Isaac Adewole, Minister of Health, said this in Abuja while briefing newsmen on the outbreak of the haemorrhagic fever. Adewole advised communities to improve on their hygiene, including food hygiene and food protection practices.
