CAMPAIGN organisers of Hon. Omawumi Udoh, Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP member representing Warri South Constituency I at Delta State House of Assembly, Warri Progressive Forum, WPF, have congratulated her on her recent election petition victory at the Court of Appeal, describing it as “The best Christmas gift we could have asked for.”
This was made this known at a press briefing in Warri by the president of the group, Reinelt Yemetie, who described Udoh’s victory as “More of a victory for democracy than for Omawumi Udoh as a person.”
In the same vein, spokesman of the group and Special Adviser News Media to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Hon. Michael Tidi, said: “Finally this noble woman and eminently forthright representative of the good people of Warri South, has been vindicated in spite of the heinous betrayal by those she had trusted.”
Mrs. Udoh headed to the election petition tribunal to contest the victory awarded by INEC to her opponent, Godwin Abigor of the Social Democratic Party, SDP. Though she had earlier lost at the state tribunal, she had proceeded to the Benin Division of the Court of Appeal which awarded her victory last weekend.
