Nigeria’s premiere tier three data centre provider, Rack Centre, has won the Data Centre Impact award at the 2015 Data Centre Dynamics Award for Europe, Middle East and Africa, EMEA, becoming the first African company to do so.
Rack Centre was also shortlisted for the second year running in the Data Centre Modular Deployment category. The award in the EMEA area category was announced in a well-attended gala night in London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel at the weekend.
Organisers of the awards, Datacentre Dynamics referred to the award as the ‘Oscars’ of the data centre business. Chief Executive Officer of Datacentre Dynamics, Mr. George Rockett said: “In this complex and competitive market, there comes few greater accolades than to be awarded one of the ‘Oscars’ through the rigorous judging of an independent panel of industry experts. Past winners have included many of the worldwide brands and every shortlisted finalist shares recognition for their exceptional performance and contribution to the market.”
Managing Director of Rack Centre, Mr. Ayotunde Coker, commenting on the award described it as “humbling to be recognised by one’s peers and colleagues in this way.
“We made a commitment to run Rack Centre as a world class facility, and according to be best standard with creative and innovative solutions supported by the best people.”
