The people from oil producing communities in OML30, Delta State, have urged the Community Development Board, CDB, to prudently utilise the funds provided by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, for the rapid development of the host communities.
A leader from Ofuoma community, Mr. Chris Eriyamremu, who spoke for the host communities, yesterday, in Warri, also urged the CDB to ensure full implementation of Global Memorandum of Understanding, GMoU, signed by NPDC and host communities.
According to him, “The host communities in OML30, are full of commendation for the management of NPDC for providing the funds and we are eagerly expecting to see the funds being used adequately to execute projects across the communities.
“The host communities shall remain peaceful and friendly to NPDC, while the members of CDB should do everything possible to ensure that host communities feel the impact of the funds provided by NPDC as contained in the GMoU.”
