Fayose

Ado-Ekiti—Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has refuted a statement credited to him on the eligibility of Alhaji Abubakar Audu, the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate for the Kogi State governorship election.
Fayose, who declared that Audu had the right to contest the governorship election, disowned the statement credited to him that Audu was not qualified to contest based on alleged corruption cases he had in court.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, Fayose said the statement he made at Lokoja during the grand finale of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship campaign rally centred strictly advocating for a free and fair election like that of Ekiti State.
The governor said that his comment had nothing to do with Audu, stressing that in law, every man is adjudged innocent until proved otherwise by a law court.
