ABUJA – Director-General, Progressive Governors Forum, PGF, an umbrella body of State Governors elected on the platform of All progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Salihu Lukman has stated that a legislative parley earlier scheduled to hold by the Forum in Katsina State was postponed due to the current hajj operation in Mecca.

He disclosed that most members if the Forum were away in Saudi Arabia for the religious exercise.

In a statement made available to Vanguard in Abuja, Lukman also hinted that there was no scheduled meeting of the Progressive Governors contrary to some media reports.

He however stated that a new date for the parley would be announced after due consultation with stakeholders on the theme of the event.

The statement read thus: “The Legislative Parley by the Progressive Governors Forum earlier scheduled for the 14th-16th of September, 2015 in Katsina State has been been rescheduled and the new date will be communicated soon.

“Contrary to some media reports, there was no scheduled meeting of the Progressive  Governors. The parley was intended to be an interactive session between the PGF Legislative Program Steering Committee Co-Chaired by art. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari and Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, Governors of Katsina and Ogun States, APC Leaders of the National Assembly and APC Speakers in the State Houses of Assembly; but had to be rescheduled because many of the invited Speakers are away for Hajj.

“A new date for the parley will be fixed after consultation with the theme: “Setting a Legislative Agenda for the Implementation of APC Manifesto”.
