ASABA—DELTA State Commissioner for Transport, Mr Vincent Uduaghan has decried what he described as high level of gross indiscipline and misappropriation of funds in the state transport company.
Uduaghan who was on a familiarization visit to Delta Line Transport Company headquarters in Asaba also expressed displeasure over what he described as lack of commitment and negligence to duties by the workers.
The transport commissioner stated that the visit was to have first hand knowledge of the situation on ground, adding that the report he received so far on the company was appalling.
He said that the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led government was determined to turn the transport company round for better service delivery and reminded the staff that any act inimical to the company would at the long run rub off on them as the company is their major source of livelihood.
Uduaghan lamented that the entrance into the company has become a park for private commercial vehicles, which according to him was unacceptable, as he charged the workers to turn a new leaf so as to move the establishment forward.
