WARRI—THE Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILoT, has congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on his assumption of office on May 29.

The group, in a letter by its Chairman, Pa J. O. S. Ayomike, said: “The entire Itsekiri people happily congratulate you first on your election victory, and your recent inauguration and assumption of office as the governor of Delta State of Nigeria.

“As you will recall on your brief and only visit to our executive before the election, it was the position of the Itsekiri people that the candidate of a Delta North person, such as you, is a manifestation of fairness and equity.”

Fairness and equity, it added, were the hallmark of the unity, happiness and togetherness of the diverse people and ethnic groups, which constitute the state.

“As we welcome you to the seat of governance, we pray that the Almighty God will guard and guide you to apply the same sense of fairness, equity and justice in your task of directing the affairs of Delta State without fear or favour,” he said.
