ABEOKUTA—The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, yesterday, commenced sitting as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Gboyega Isiaka, submitted his petition against the victory of the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Isiaka dragged Amosun, his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and Resident Electoral Commission in the state before the tribunal claiming to have won 14 local governments out of 20 councils in the state.
Isiaka while speaking with newsmen, in Abeokuta shortly after he submitted his petition, acussed officials of INEC of conniving with some leaders of APC in the state to manipulate the results of the election which he said were favourable to him shortly after the election on Saturday ‘based on the field reports’ .
According to Isiaka, “I had a clear lead in 14 local governments while the gap was very close in the six other council areas of Ogun Central Senatorial district and Ado-Odo-Ota in Ogun West senatorial district.”
