The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency 1, Mr. Tony Omotesho Akala-Bakare, has expressed dissatisfaction over election results released by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The results were released by the Electoral Officer in charge of the zone, Mrs. Ogungbemi, who declared the candidate for All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Jide Akinloye, winner over PDP’s Mr. Tony Akala-Bakare, with 7,000 votes.
In a statement yesterday, Chief Press Secretary of the Campaign for PDP, Mr. Israel Akintola, argued that elections were inconclusive at over 10 polling stations, just as he alleged that the exercise was characterized by irregularities and massive rigging.
The statement said: “We discovered that the rigging was effected at different polling centres and when there were issues of concern, we raised alarm.
“The card reader used was brought forward and we later discovered 20 registered voters from the card reader.”
Akintola, however, said that when calls were made to the INEC official for Eti-Osa council area, she gave excuse that INEC was short of materials and that the election went well.
