OSOGBO—Twelve people yesterday lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident involving a Toyota Sienna space bus and a Toyota Hiace bus along Ilesa-Ife Expressway.
It was gathered that the accident, which happened at about 4pm, claimed the lives of some of the occupants of the passenger bus and the Sienna.
Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps were rescuing the injured at the scene of the accident as of the time of filing this report.
According to the source, the driver of the Toyota Hiace bus was said to have left his lane and drove against traffic.
Children were said to be in one of the vehicles and an eye witness said no fewer than four children were among the dead.
The Siena bus, it was gathered, left Abuja for Lagos and the accident happened few hours before the driver could reach his destination.
When contacted, FRSC Sector Commander in Osun State, Mr. Mohammed Hussein, confirmed the accident but said he did not have the details.
The accident, according to him was caused heavy traffic on the road which left motorists stuck in the area for several hours before the road was eventually cleared.
