Women particularly soon neglect or perhaps forget every single resolution as they get overwhelmed by the demands of being caregivers, professionals, co-breadwinners or even breadwinners in their families. This, most times, is to the detriment of their overall health and well-being.

But who says 2015 cannot be different? Who says you can’t remember to care for ‘You’ by simply picking one of the following worthy resolutions, and sticking religiously with it. Here is to a healthier you throughout 2015!

Get more sleep

Sleep is a well-kept secret to a good health as the body repairs and regenerates during sleep. Besides, what can help you feel more energized during the day, improve your brain and mood if not a good sleep? Experts also say Calcium is added to the bones while you sleep.

While getting to bed earlier can sometimes be difficult as moms are usually the last to go to bed, avoiding food two hours before bedtime can ensure that your digestive system doesn’t keep you awake. Eliminating all light in your bedroom can also help you get a good sound sleep.

Eat more vegetables and fruits

This is a shrewd resolution anyone can make and gain from. This is because there abound hundreds of evidences linking veggie and fruit consumption to diseases prevention. Eating more of these is easier than you think.

Luckily, fruits are sold almost everywhere in Nigeria from as little as ten, twenty naira and above- by road sides, in your local community, workplaces, malls, and more. You can also make a resolve to carry an apple or some oranges and bananas in your bag each day, to promote your fruit intake. Resolve now to promote your fibre and vitamin intake with these powerful antioxidants.

Exercise more

What works for one woman doesn’t always work for everyone. Just find a form of exercise that you love, whether running, skipping, swimming, walking, yoga, spinning or whatever your choice may be. Just force yourself to develop likeness for some form of exercise if you haven’t been a fan. You can grow this love by finding a venue you love as well.

Exercising is an indispensable way to keep your body fit throughout the year 2015.

Get a social life

An active social life is one unbeatable way you can actually enhance your health in the coming year. If you have not made more social and healthy dates with friends in 2014, resolve to do so in 2015.

Home chores can be a major hindrance to this resolution but you should resolve to not let them stand in your way. This is not to say you should neglect them, no! Just learn to balance your time and do chores ahead so you do not have to worry about them when you should feel totally relaxed during your dates.

Set yourself free

Let the coming year be the year for your freedom from every toxic relationship or friendship that leaves you sad, unmotivated. Habit, guilt, fear of the unknown, fear of failure, low self-esteem, anxiety about being alone—there are so many reasons why we stay in toxic relationships that we know, deep down, we need to get out of now.

Just learn to be more assertive and confident about why you should ditch that unhealthy relationship. You can decide to block or add the person’s number to your screened list on your cell phone as you enter 2015.

Cut down on anger, anxiety

Some women get angrily too easily; even over insignificant issues! If you’re one, resolve to cut down on anger and anxiety in the coming year. Be more in control of yourself and cry less. You can play and replay your most favourite music instead of letting yourself feel downcast because experts say psychological stress can cause physical stress in your body. When you are emotionally overwhelmed, angry or frustrated, your body releases cortisol, also known as ‘the stress hormone.’ Excessive cortisol can deplete immune functioning, resulting in your body having trouble fighting off disease. In fact, it can adversely affect every organ in your body.
