Jalingo— The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Gombe Operations Office, has organised a workshop to sensitise stakeholders on basic emergency response and fire prevention and control techniques.
NEMA Head of Gombe Operations Office, Alhaji Saidu Minin, said in Jalingo that the workshop was for stakeholders from Bauchi, Taraba and Gombe.
Minin said the workshop was necessary because of onset of harmattan in the region.
He added that “you can agree with me that in the North East, we have started experiencing harmattan with its accompanying heavy wind that causes fire outbreaks.
“This workshop has become very necessary in this region where there are lots of security threats in worship centres, motorparks, markets and other gatherings, especially during the yuletide.”
