Yenagoa — The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP in Bayelsa State, has released the results of its state House of Assembly primaries held, weekend, across the state with Governor Seriake Dickson’s loyalists sweeping the poll.
Among the governor’s loyalists are nine incumbent lawmakers of the 24 member House.
The results by the Chairman of the party’s Electoral Committee for the state House of Assembly primaries, Yusuf Abubakar has Ball Oyarede, Omonibeke Kemelayefa and Michael Ogbere emerging flag bearers for Ekeremor constituency 1, 2 and 3, Dr. Parkinson MacManuel, Mrs. Ebiuwou K. Obiyai and Gentle Emelah were victorious from Yenagoa constituencies 1, 2, and 3.
The results from the Ogbia Local Government Area shows that Chief Miteme Obodor won the primaries in constituency I with Dr. Anapurere Awoli and Naomi Ogoli emerging from constituencies 2 and 3 respectively.
But supporters of Obedient Emoto, yesterday, insisted that he won the primaries and not Dr. Anapurere Awoli.
The primaries in Sagbama produced Akpe Pereotubo (incumbent) for constituency 1, Colonel Bernard Kenebai, (rtd) for constituency 2 and the ticket for Sagbama 3 went to Salo Adikuma.
Tonye Isenah (incumbent) and Joshua Ebikeme Ongore won the tickets for Kolokuma/Opokuma constituencies 1 and 2, while the Southern Ijaw constituencies 1, 2, 3, and 4 primaries saw the emergence of Konbowei Benson from constituency 4, with Kate Owoko from 1 and Monday Obolo (incumbent), Baraladei Igali (incumbent) taking the slots for constituencies 2 and 3.
Incumbent Deputy Speaker, Chief Victor Ateki, Obed Andi and Ingobere Abraham came out victorious from the primaries in Brass 1, 2, and 3, while Nembe 1 went to Ebi Ololo. Also, 2 and 3 went to Ingo Iwowari and Obiene Iniyobio.
He, however, admitted that, the war on terror requires a concerted effort between the people and the security agencies, and therefore, commended the security agencies in the state for containing the situation.
The Emir stressed: “Security is sacrosanct,that is why the Federal Government must do everything within its power to match its words with actions,” pointing out that without security, nothing meaningful could be achieved.
