There are fears in the camp of the Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime that his anointed candidate, Ifeanyi Ugwanyi, may not be cleared by the national secretariat of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, following his role in the emergence of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, despite directives from both the presidency and the PDP that members of the party should support Mrs Mulikat Akande.
