HAVING observed the depreciation of Nigeria’s, the Managing Director of Interworld Managing Mains and Services Limited, Mrs. Omotayo Morgan has called for the provision of interesting reading materials that will boost the reading culture at primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education in Nigeria.

Speaking with journalists in an interview, she said materials that are interesting should be provided to the students at all levels, adding that children must also be encouraged to read. According to her: “Students will read when reading is made interesting to them. It is something they have to develop from childhood and it is what parents just have to work on.”

She however said that students want materials that will stretch their imagination and by so doing they will read and that love for reading will stay with them all their life.

The MD of Interworld who also represents World Book International, publishers of educational materials in both print and digital format and Exco education services providing periodicals, journals for tertiary institutions tasks schools and government to provide functioning libraries everywhere in the country, adding that it will encourage children and parents to go there and find out things. According to her: ”The libraries that we have are old libraries with outdated materials that is of no interest to everybody.”

She however said that a library is part of the fundamental art of the society.

Mrs Morgan however tasks universities to produce journals, adding that works in journals are up to date materials. In her words “any research finding come out first in journals, that is where educationists, researchers and people in the higher level of education report their findings and that is how they make it available for students.”

She however enjoined schools to provide World book publications for their students, adding that World book materials supplement textbooks that students read. She also said that World book has about 21 different products for any ward of learning, for kids that are just growing, for children and those in the universities. Saying equally that, World book materials make learning more interesting and interactive.

She also said that “in the last few years, the education industry has been moving from print to digital format and that World book is not left behind. She said that World book E-book enables the children to read two books simultaneously without disturbing each other,” adding that World book materials online should be provided by schools for their students, which is a fantastic tool for teaching and learning.

She therefore encouraged schools to subscribe to World book packages that will assist the children and schools to attain their goals, adding that the materials are new cost effective and digital for enhancing teaching and learning. She also said that World book gives backups for schools that have it, by training and directing teachers and educators online. Morgan, therefore urged schools to key into the World Book Digital Products slated on 28th of October, 2014 at 10am and on 30th at Corona Schools.
