Bauchi—A couple was, yesterday, crushed by a vehicle at Rampa Village in Darazo Local Government Area, Bauchi State.

The deceased, Alhaji Abdul Iliyasu, 45, and his 30-year-old wife, Aisha Abdul, were trying to cross the road on a motorcycle, when they were hit by the vehicle, an Opel with number plate AH 151 MSA, driven by one Chidawa Yakubu, aged 60.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident, saying a police patrol team attached to Darazo Police Division visited the scene and conveyed the corpses to Darazo General Hospital for autopsy.

He said police was investigating and cautioned motorists to always observe traffic rules and regulations.
