Borno League of professionals want unity against insurgency

Maiduguri – The League of Borno Professionals, on Sunday, urged indigenes of the state to unite and fight the Boko Haram insurgency.

The call is contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen by the league’s President, Mr Pindar Yusuf, in Maiduguri.

The statement quoted Yusuf as saying “all hands must be on deck to tackle the Boko Haram insurgency in the state in this season of politicking or else the state will burn if caution is thrown to the winds.”

The group said it had uncovered a plot by some people in the state to cause disaffection within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the state government “through malicious publications.”

It advised Gov. Kashim Shettima not to allow himself to be distracted in the onerous task of rebuilding the state.

The League said that in spite of the five-year old insurgency, the governor still had trust and confidence, reposed in him by the electorate.
