Ado Ekiti—Former  Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to be united and field acceptable candidates for it to perform well in the 2015 general elections.

Olubolade, who spoke in Ado Ekit yesterday, said all hands must be on deck for the party to win elections in the country, especially in the South-West geo political zone.
He said “The PDP must strive for people of acceptable qualities to be fielded for elections in the zone. This will not only earn us winning and acceptability, it will reduce desperation to win elections.”
He called on Nigerians to join President Goodluck Jonathan in his efforts to tackle insurgency in the country.

The former minister said he had donated a landed property in his Ipoti-Ekiti home town for the successful take-off of military barracks in Ekiti State.
Olubolade, who commended Governor Kayode Fayemi for his contribution to the development of the state, called on the governor-elect to rise above partisanship, saying;  “Governor Fayemi has contributed his own quota in Ekiti, so losing election would not be the end of life.

”If he truly loves his people, then nothing stops him from working with Ayo Fayose. The two are elder statesmen who should always think of the people rather than their narrow interests.
“I contested in the PDP primaries and lost the ticket to Fayose, but this will not stop me from remaining in the party.”
