Opuama alleges marginalisation

By Godwin Oghre
Sapele—The people of Opuama community, Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, have protested what they described as their exclusion from government appointments at the state and federal level, and called on the state government to urgently look into their plight.

Spokesman of the community, Mr. Christopher Awe, told journalists in Sapele, yesterday: “There are 10 wards in the council and we are in Ward 7. Every other ward has been getting appointments except us.
“We have been giving one 100 percent of our votes to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the various elections and have made enormous contributions to the socio-economic development of the three tiers of government, all to no avail.”
