ABEOKUTA—Former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, yesterday said members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state House of Assembly were not into any alliance to remove the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi frm office.

Alao-Akala spoke in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State after a reception programme held for 1, 500 members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who decamped to the PDP in the state.

The former governor, who held a closed-door meeting with Chairman, Mobilisation and Organisation Committee for PDP in South West, Prince Buruji Kashamu after the reception, told newsmen that he was in Ogun State to felicitate with Kashamu.

There had been insinuations that some members of the Oyo state House of Assembly were forming alliance to impeach the state governor.

According to Alao-Akala “PDP is not part of the plot to remove Ajimobi. Members of the PDP who are in the Assembly are not in alliance to remove anybody from office. We cannot do that. Why would they remove him? What has he done? Let him finish his job and go away.

“I am here to felicitate with my brother and friend who is Chairman, Organisation and Mobilisation of the PDP on this salah.”

On the chances of the party in Oyo State in the coming elections, Alao-Akala said “in Oyo State, there is no APC, I am not bluffing and I am not joking, there is no APC. The man there is just buying time, he will soon pack his bags and go away.”

When asked whether the PDP is going to form alliance with Accord in the state to oust the incumbent governor in the 2015 election, Alao-Akala said “there is nothing like alliance, we are going headlong to face whoever that is coming out.”
