BARRING last-minute change, 10 Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, from about 10 states will be on ground in Ekiti State to monitor the conduct of the June 21 governorship elections.

Vanguard was reliably informed that the deployment of the RECs by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega, is to avert any form of compromise.
It was also gathered that the move is to assist in the distribution and supervision of electoral materials in the various local government areas of the state.

The RECs expected to arrive in Ado-Ekiti today will include those of Lagos, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Kogi and Kwara states among others.
