ABUJA — MEMBERS of the House of Representatives were, yesterday, divided over comments made by President Goodluck Jonathan that the Green Chamber has been involved in more politics than legislative business.

Some of the lawmakers, who spoke to Vanguard, argued that it was a statement of fact that the lawmakers had lost steam, while others condemned Jonathan’s comment.
Minority leader of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, APC, Lagos, said the electorate should be allowed to judge whether the President was right or not in his declaration.

According to him, there is no need to join issues with the President on the issue as the electorate would be better judges.
In his words:  “On this issue I will allow the electorate to determine who plays politics and who is working.”

”I will let Nigerian people speak in 2015 as to who they think has been the stumbling block to the wheel of the Nigerian progress.
”I am supremely confident of   what the verdict will be”.
