PDP accuses Amosun of spending N15m on APC congresses

ABEOKUTA — The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  in Ogun State, yesterday, accused Governor Ibikunle Amosun of squandering N15 million to induce delegates during the state congresses of the All Progressives Congress, APC,  held on Saturday.

The PDP made the allegation during a reception organised for 2,500 former members of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP,  led by the governorship candidate in the state during the 2011 elections, Chief Yomi Omosanya that defected to its fold in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.

But in a swift reaction, the APC factional Publicity Secretary in the state loyal to the governor, Sola Lawal denied the allegation, describing the claim by the PDP as a figment of its imagination, saying “Members of the party were not induced.

“Nobody was induced with money. The people have passion for the party, the people that attended the congress yesterday were there because of the passion they have for our party. It is a statement of imagination, it is an idle talk. It does not deserve the same treatment. It is not true.”
