The Labour Party, LP, in Osun State has suspended a governorship aspirant and former Secretary to the State Government, SSG in the state, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade.

Akinbade has also been banned from parading himself as an aspirant in the party as he is not yet a full member.

These desicions of the party were made known by its Caretaker Chairman, Chief Daniel Bankole Afilaka.

This development follows a court ruling that nullified the congress conducted by the now declared illegal Transition Committee headed by Mr Muideen Arogundade.

Announcing the suspension, Afilaka said, “Alhaji Fatai Akinbade is hereby suspended from the LP pending when he regularises his membership card with the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee on or before the Thursday 10th of April 2014.

“He is hereby barred from parading himself as a gubernatorial aspirant under the LP till further notice. It should be noted that Alhaji Akinbade is not yet a bonafide member of Labour Party till he regularises his membership status in our great party.”
