The Jeep Grand Cherokee has never been this good. Though the Grand Cherokee has a pedigree as master of all terrain, it has never offered as much power, luxury, capability, safety as the 2014 model.

The new Grand Cherokee was unveiled to the Nigerian Motoring Press over the weekend at Weststar Associates office in Lekki. Weststar is the authorised distributors of Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler products in      Nigeria, as well as Mercedes-Benz brand.

In a chat with Vanguard Motoring, during the unveiling, Mr. Mirko Plath, Weststar Associates Managing Director explained that the all-new Grand Cherokee offers what other luxury sport utility vehicles have and even more, at a very competitive price. The Grand Cherokee’s entry price starts from as  low as N12 million plus, while the SRT models which boasts 470 horsepower has a price tag of about N16 million. The new Grand Cherokee is available in five versions including the Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit and SRT, all loaded with amazing features.

Innovations in the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee are countless. Authentic 4 x 4 capability, independent suspension, quadra-lift suspension system, Selec-Train Traction system and premium exterior light are some of the features of the all-new Grand Cherokee.

Other unique features of the Grand Cherokee include Multi-view Display and multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifter handover gear shift control dual-pane panoramic sunroof, climate control via Uconnect etc.
Under the hood of the Grand Cherokee is a powerful 3.6 V6 Pentaster engine that delivers efficient and economical option.

Paired with the new 8-speed automatic transmission, it churns out plenty of strength to tow up to 2812kg, a 24 per cent increase in pulling power. This engine has unprecedented fuel efficiency. The air-cushioned adjustable ride height, smooths on-road handling, increases fuel efficiency, eases entry and loading and lifts Grand Cherokee to amazing heights, all with just a finger touch control. So, you are sure of four road setting on the new Jeep Grand Cherokee.

How it works. In Park mode, this closed type air suspension system gently lowers Grand Cherokee – 40.6mm below normal ride height to allow for more graceful entrance and exit as well as greater ease loading cargo.
When negotiating deep mud or two track trails, switch Quadra-lift to off road 1 mode for an added vehicle clearance of 33mm, to give your capability a serious  lift. When travelling at cruising speeds, Quadra-lift automatically lowers the vehicle 15mm below normal ride height to aero mode. This in turn, improves aerodynamics and fuel efficiency.

In off-road two mode setting, Quadra-lift takes you to legendary height with simple push of a button. The rise is about 66mm above normal ride height which is ideal for deep ruts, tall brush and protruding rocks.
All the versions of the Grand Cherokee have been built with quality materials and luxury finishing. The leather-trimmed interiors are of first class quality, while the sound systems is either Harman Kardon or Alpine surround.  Touch screen with voice operation for available communication service completes the beautiful interior.

Also two available nine inch VGA high resolution screens are integrated into the seatback to entertain rear seat passengers. The system can play standard DVDs as well as Blue-ray Discs and includes independent HDMI and RCA inputs for each screen. It also include two wireless headphones.
