ADO EKITI—FORMER governor of Ekiti State and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the June 21 election, Mr. Ayo Fayose, was yesterday received by tumultuous crowd of admirers and party faithful after he returned to the state from Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, paralyzing social and economic activities in Ikere Ekiti, the second largest town in the state, for several hours.

Fayose returned to the state after receiving the party’s flag as the gubernatorial candidate from the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu at the party’s secretariat, Abuja.
The crowd thronged the major Ikere-Akure road leading to Amoye Grammar School, Ikere Ekiti where his helicopter landed and was welcomed back to the state by some notable party leaders at about 2.15 pm
Speaking, Fayose commended all the aspirants that contested along with him, urging them to work with him so that the party could win the June 21 gubernatorial election
He particularly commended one of the aspirants, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, for displaying sportsmanship during and after the primaries, promising not to disappoint him.
Fayose appealed to aggrieved aspirants over his emergence to forget the past and chart a new cause in the interest of the party, saying; “What l want people to know is that l can only be a governor, there are still many posts to share.”
He dismissed insinuations that he was at loggerheads with some traditional rulers in the state, noting that he had no animosity against any monarch in the state, promising to embark on personal visits to all the traditional rulers in the state soon as a practical way of dispelling the rumour.
Meantime, Governor Kayode Fayemi, yesterday advised the people of the state not to allow the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to return to power, saying the seven and half years regime of PDP in the past, did not only draw the state backward, but was characterised by instability and disorderliness.
The governor also called on his supporters and the entire citizens of the state to resist any attempt by enemies of the state to rig or snatch ballot boxes during the June 21 election.
Fayemi spoke at the various towns and villages in Oye Local Government area of the state where he campaigned for his reelection.
Some of the communities visited included: Isan Ekiti , his countryhome, Ilafon, Oye Ekiti, Ilemeso, Ayede, Imojo, Orisunmibare, Itaji, Ayegbaju and Oloje Ekit where some members of PDP led by Mr. Maxwell Bamisile and Labour Party supporters defected to All Progressives Congress, APC, at Ayede Ekiti.
