Osoba, Uduaghan commend Innoson’s vehicle brand

The Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Segun Osoba have commended the Innoson vehicle brand assembled in the country.

The  governors gave the commendation at the Vanguard Personality of the Year award, 2013  weekend, at the Oriental Hotels, Lagos.

Governor Uduaghan, who emerged winner of the award (Vanguard Personality of the Year), stated that his state was sourcing commercial vehicles from outside the country until they discovered that what they were looking for outside was available in the country with even better quality.

He also thumbed up for the management of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturers for creating jobs for  teeming Nigerian youths and charged Nigerian investors to strive and create more jobs as a way of reducing crimes.

According to the governor, the number of the youths that died recently while trying to gain employment into the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) would have been avoided if enough jobs had been created in the country. He noted that on his part, the initiative, ‘Delta Beyond Oil’, was created to create more jobs for the youths.

Dr. Uduaghan, however, praised the Federal Government’s initiatives in trying to tackle the problem of unemployment in the country with its various programmes.

Innoson Group is the first private vehicle manufacturer in Nigeria. It assembles buses, trucks  and sports utility vehicles, (SUV), using Chinese made engines. The vehicles which come in different engines  capacities compete favourably with Japanese and European made vehicles with price advantage.  The chairman of Innoson Motors, Chief Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma was also honoured with the “Most  Innovative Industrialist of the Year award” by Vanguard Media Limited, an award, the chairman of the occasion, Aremo Segun Osoba, said was well deserved.
