ABEOKUTA—Hundreds of indigenes of Yewa, in Ogun West Senatorial District of Ogun State, yesterday,   protested the dropping of the paramount ruler and Olu of Yewa, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle from the delegates list recently released by the Federal Government.

The protesters under the aegis of Ogun West Consultative Forum, described as utmost shock and disbelieve the exclusion of their revered Oba’s  name from the conference list.
Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun last week announced the name of Oba Olugbenle as one of the state’s delegates to the National Conference due for inauguration on Monday.

But, when the final list of the delegates for the confab was released by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,, Chief Pius Ayim, the Olu of Ilaro’s name was conspicuously missing.
Reacting to the development, Chief Kayode Odunaro and Tokunbo Fakeye in a press release  condemned the action  describing  the development as a grave error.

“It is thus with utmost shock and disbelieve that we received the report of the royal father’s name exclusion from the list of delegates as released by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF Chief Pius Ayim.
“Indeed it was thought to be a grave error until we confirmed that indeed his name was dropped  without any  justifiable reason,” the statement said in part.
