Abuja—Abuja indigenes have called on the Federal Government to create a development commission in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, to take care of displaced indigenous communities in the territory.
The indigenes, acting under the umbrella of Original Inhabitants Development Association of Abuja, OIDA, also urged the Minister of FCT, Senator Bala Mohammed, to upgrade traditional rulers and name major streets in Abuja city centre after FCT-indigenous heroes and royal fathers.
President of the association, Pastor Danladi Jeji, made the demands at the second FCT Heritage Day celebration in Gwagwalada, Abuja on Monday.
