The service was supposed to be launched a month ago, but for some reasons, the industry regulator, Nigerian Communications Commission forwarded the planned launch from the initial March 22 date to April 22.

Apparently trying to plug the loss in revenue from local internet contents hoisted outside the country, the Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria, IXPN and its counterpart, the Nigeria Internet Registration Association, NIRA have caused a two day stakeholders forum tagged Local Internet Content Forum, LICF, to arrest the ugly trend.
