LAGOS—The Salvation Army, Nigeria Territory recently joined other organisations in Nigeria to mark World AIDS Day, to remind the world that the pandemic is still very evident, and to call for caution in the lifestyle of individuals.
The event which took place in Lagos, with the theme, Getting to Zero, invloved a rally along Ikorodu, Onipanu and the Palm Grove areas to educated the populace about HIV/AIDS.
Speaking to newsmen during the occasion, Major Bessie Udoh, Project Officer, HIV/AIDS Unit, advised participants to avoid casual sex and stick to one partner.
Six orphans whom either one or both parents had died of AIDS-related diseases were given educational support grants at the event.
