Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke flew out of Lagos lastnight with a promise to bring back the FIFA U-17 World Cup to Nigeria.

The Governor accompanied by his Sports Commissioner Patrick Ugbe said that he was going to Dubai to lend support to the Eaglets and bring back the Cup to Nigeria.

‘’The Governor promised to be with them at the final. They are his boys and he will be the first person to bring the cup to President Goodluck Jonathan’’, Ugbe exuding confidence said.

The Governor, no doubt, deserves a resounding applause  for the success of the Golden Eaglets. The amiable Governor of Cross River State provided a home when no one knew the stuff of the young lads.

‘’My Governor loves sports and demonstrates it. The Eaglets have been close to his heart since they were assembled. And the Super Eagles, too, have found a home in Calabar where they will qualify for the World cup on November 16’’, Ugbe said before jetting out.
