PORT HARCOURT—TWO victims were, Sunday night, confirmed dead and a Toyota car belonging to one Dr. Chukwuma Nwaiwu carted away as gunmen stormed Ada-George Road, Rumueme, Port Harcourt in Rivers State.
Chairman of Rumueme Community Landlords’ Union, Sabastine Onuhia, who confirmed the incident yesterday, said robbers now enjoy unhindered liberty in Ada-George area of the Port Harcourt.
Onuhia said: “It has become a daily experience in this part of Port Harcourt. Yesterday two persons were shot dead during one of the attacks in the neighbourhood.
“We are no longer safe. We are calling on the Commissioner of Police to do something about the security challenges in the area.
Nwaiwu, whose car was stolen, said: “I have reported to the Police that my car was stolen Sunday night immediately I drove into my compound. I didn’t notice anybody or vehicle following me when I entered my street.
“I came down from the vehicle to close my gate; the next thing I saw was a man that led three other robbers.
“He ordered me to give him my car key and they drove the car off after robbing my family.”
