Henry Nwosu

1980 Nations Cup winner Henry Nwosu (MON) has insisted that the Super Eagles would not have had a better chance to qualify for the FIFA World Cup than now that they face Ethiopia in the final playoffs for the 2014 Brazil soccer fiesta.
The African champions confront Ethiopia in a two-legged match-up between October and November, and have the advantage of playing the second leg in Calabar, which has been a good hunting ground for the Eagles since the African qualifying series for the Mundial started.
While some ex-internationals like Tajudeen Disu have cautioned the Coach Stephen Keshi-tinkered side to be watchful of their foes, Nwosu has dismissed any threat of the Ethiopians upsetting the Eagles.
Nwosu told Sports Vanguard on phone that “Ethiopia are a good, talented and determined side but their quality cannot withstand the superior firepower of Nigeria. We are just too much for them and I see us beating them convincingly home and away.
“It is now or never for the Eagles. Honestly, they would not have a better chance of reaching the World Cup finals than this present opportunity against Ethiopia. We are the African champions and the players are playing with so much purpose. That makes me have the double assurance that we are through to Brazil 2014”, added Nwosu.
