GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has announced the absorption of 1,072 casual workers into the state workforce in fulfillment of his promise made to workers at last May Day rally, which has been hailed as a special May Day gift.

The absorption of the casual workers came few hours to this year’s May Day celebration, which was announced by the Director of Information, Mr. Paul Osahor.

He said: “The regularisation of appointments is in fulfillment of the governor’s earlier promise to workers and this has put an end to the issue of casualisation in Delta State public service.

“With this gesture, workers in the state are advised to be more dedicated to duty, productive and innovative.”
