As part of effort aimed at realizing its passion in dealing with customers’ problem, West Africa’s ICT Distributor, Technology Distributions Limited, TD, has advocated for higher productivity of IT products through the deployment of genuine HP IPG products.
TD also descried patronage of fake and adulterated products, noting that, although they are low priced, their patronage always translate to higher costs in the long run.
The company made the position known at a HP Imaging and Printing Group’s Training organized in partnership with HP Supplies and Hardware and targeted at top IT and Procurement managers in government and the private sectors. The training also included top TD resellers from from all over the country.
The Lead Trainer at the occasion from HP MEA, Michael Hopfe, pointed out that HP has shattered the boredom in printing through the production of HP Scitex 5,300 with capacity for large format printing up to 5m wide, saying that there is excitement now in the capabilities of HP’s printers, and also in printing advertising materials used to wrap around buildings and brand cars.
Hopfe said that another example is the new HP Designjet 3D Printing Series which brings quality 3D printing right into the office. This range of 3D printers according to him, enables the creation of precise, durable plastic models that could be used to evaluate form, fit, and function. These 3D printers produce high quality models and prototypes that are true to original design and get a fast return on investment.
“The HP IPG bouquet provides solutions that yield value through the entire printing process from design to collation, including photo smart, toners, cartridges and inks.
Contributing at the training, TD’s Manager Marketing, Mrs. Modupe Adesiyun drew attention to the high cost of cheap substandard supplies in terms of damage to equipment, poor quality print, repeat jobs and loss of man-hours in managing resultant problems.
She emphasized the importance of buying genuine products from authorized dealers even at a little extra cost, as it would prove cheaper in the long run and guarantee peace of mind to end-users.
Mrs. Adesiyun provided tips on how to identify fake supplies. She clarified that HP has not licensed any company to manufacture supplies on its behalf and such stories are false explanations being peddled in the market by unscrupulous suppliers to persuade end-users to buy from dealers outside the channel.
She explained that the training and the topic were motivated by TD’s commitment to enlightening end-users on the dynamics of the market and also ensuring that they achieve optimal value from their IT spend.
